The Cannery encompasses 98.4 acres and combines residential, office, and public/semi-public space organized around parks, greenbelts and open space. Scaled to fit adjoining neighborhoods, residential densities range from six to 24 units per acre and include cluster courts, stacked flat condominiums, garage lanes and traditional single family homes. The plan provides both affordable and market rate housing that promotes resident interaction. Office, retail, live/work and public building areas offer the potential for 700 to 1,000 jobs. A 100’ wide drainage basin along two sides of the development creates natural habitat and water quality basins while buffering the site from rail lines. Special attention has been given to shared green spaces and creating safe, and connected pedestrian and bike routes.
