Comprehensive design services were provided by The HLA Group which focused on preserving significant stands of native vegetation, heritage trees, and wetland areas, while providing three softball, one football, and one soccer field; volleyball and roller hockey courts; and parking for nearly 200 vehicles. Special emphasis was paid to the notion of creative play with the master plan calling for such elements as an interactive water feature, a simulated archeological dig, and other non-traditional play features. Historic mine tailing mounds were preserved on-site and used as a climbing and adventure play area; a historic mining flume was incorporated into the design as part of the water feature.
