For over a decade, The HLA Group has worked closely with the City of Visalia in development of the 83-acre Visalia Riverway Sports Park. Design of the park is intended to provide a wide range of recreational facilities that meet current and projected future needs of the community. Stakeholder input was paramount to the project. A series of three community workshops were facilitated by The HLA Group, each with an average attendance of 150 people, in order to identify critical needs of the community. Park facilities include: 10 soccer fields; a four-diamond softball complex; a four-diamond baseball complex; restroom/concessions buildings; volleyball, tennis and basketball courts; community center with amphitheater; an aquatic complex; BMX track; three play areas; interactive water play feature; group picnic shelters and informal picnic areas; central promenade designed for events; parking for 800 cars, and internal vehicular and pedestrian circulation systems. In 2011 the Cal Ripken World Series was held at the baseball complex and the Western Regionals were held in 2012.
