In 2010, the City of Sacramento Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment Department was awarded $2 million in Proposition 40 grant funding from the State of California for the development of this 9.6-acre park in North Natomas. Careful attention was paid to grant funding requirements during construction documentation and bid alternate strategies were developed to meet grant funding limitations. Park amenities include: a large naturalistic themed multi-aged play area, central gathering plaza with covered picnic shelter, water spray pad, community garden, in-ground skate park, youth baseball field, basketball courts, and a perimeter pathway system linking the park to the adjacent open space bikeway corridor.
