Glenbrooke by Del Webb is the first active adult community in the City of Elk Grove and includes 604 single-family homes within a 135-acre planning area. The HLA Group provided input on the specific plan, design guidelines, and land plan as well as provided overall community design and theming. Amenities include four public parks, a recreation center, streetscapes, community monumentation at pedestrian and vehicular entries, and a network of paseos and naturalized drainage corridors. The design of these amenities emphasizes features that are appealing to the active-adult market, including a community rose garden with gazebo, exercise course/stations, putting green, central fountain plaza, and numerous seating areas along the meandering trails. Central to the community is the “Arbour Lodge” - a multi-use recreation center featuring an olympic size pool, tennis and bocce courts, outdoor fireplace and patios, trellises, and a decorative water feature. The HLA Group worked in collaboration with the City of Elk Grove to develop a unique community theme reminiscent of the agricultural and rural history of the region while complementing the existing adjacent communities.
