2001 Special Citation — California Redevelopment Association
The HLA Group created the landscape plan and design for the stadium, including hardscape for the concourse and beer garden, site planning for the outfield turf seating area, and streetscape improvements to tie the ballpark into future development in the City’s Triangle Plan area. Planning emphasized views toward the Sacramento River and historic Tower Bridge. The ballpark is exceptionally successful, attracting more than one million visitors a year to West Sacramento’s waterfront and helping to realize the City’s redevelopment goal to become a destination tourist attraction that stimulates economic development.
